All plastic is reviewed before it is processed. If the plastic is unable to be resurfaced due to previous damage or if it is End of Life (EOL), we then recycle each piece of plastic, LCD, ribbon cable, speaker, etc. We inspect all trash each day from the production of each department to ensure there are no parts thrown away. Because we take pride in our recycling process, it is a termination offense if it occurs. Each week, a truck is sent for pickup and disposal of this plastic and not one part has ever been sent to a landfill in over 10 years.
All cardboard boxes that TDI-LLC purchases, for use in production, are reused time and time again. We transport our used boxes to our vendors so they are able to send parts back to us in the used boxes. All boxes that are worn out or not reuseable are placed on pallets and picked up for recycling.
For this process, we designed two state of the art blasting machines. The blasting media used in the machines is designed to be non-harmful to the environment and is captured and filtered internally. Because the media and dust are closely regulated and contained, TDI-LLC staff nor the environment are exposed to this material. The blasting media, containing paint chips and other debris, is stored in 55 gallon drums for recyclers to pickup and dispose.
TDI-LLC's automated painting process is a world class clean room painting system. With our system, all paint and clear coat applications are applied in a completely enclosed environment by machines. No one is in any danger of ever being exposed to the smell or chemicals in the paint. In the venting system process, the excess paint and fumes are captured, filtered, and cleaned. All excess paints and solvents are stored in 55 gallon drums, ready for pickup and disposal by our recycling partner.
Our paint partner works closely with us to bring the safest paints and solvents to the production process. In 2008, we had over fifty engineers from companies around the world to view our technology, make suggestions on our processes, and help us bring a better, cleaner, greener process to the market.
